Medicine Buddha Sutra (Bhaiṣajyaguru Sūtra)

药师琉璃光如来本愿功德经

The Medicine Buddha Sutra records the twelve great vows of Bhaiṣajyaguru, the Medicine Buddha, who vowed to heal beings of illness, poverty, imprisonment and ignorance, and to lead them to awakening. His Pure Land of Vaiḍūrya (lapis lazuli) in the east is described as radiant and pure. The sutra is recited widely for healing, long life and peace.
